We celebrate and welcome individuals of all abilities and strive to make Floris UMC a place where all can be a part of our community. In order to do that, we offer the following services for those with special needs.
Children with Special Needs
- Sunday Morning Buddy Ministry: On Sunday mornings, we host a Buddy Ministry that pairs children with special needs, age three through fifth grade, with volunteers who provide appropriate support and assistance so that the children can participate fully in our Kid Nation activities.
- Family Support Ministry: For those raising children with special needs, Floris UMC also provides care through our Family Support Ministry. Once a month, volunteers provide in-home childcare so that parents/caregivers of children with special needs may enjoy a few hours to themselves to spend a night out, run errands, attend meetings or whatever else they may need. For more information, contact Kathy Primus.

- Hearing Impaired: Sign language interpretation is available at our 9:15 a.m. worship service, and our sanctuary is equipped with devices to assist those who are hearing impaired. To use a hearing device, simply ask an usher or the sound technician when you arrive.
- Handicap Accessible Buses: For residents of Coppermine and Kendrick Courts, we offer handicap accessible buses to and from our 11 a.m. worship service. To sign up for this transportation, contact Barbara Miner.
