Opportunities in worship:
  • Acolyte: Light the candles on the altar prior to worship and extinguish light at the end of worship. Must be 3rd grade and up. Opportunities are available at each Sunday morning services. Training provided.
  • Audio/Visual Ministries: Assist with sound, slide presentation and operation of camera. Training provided.
  • Communion Server: Assist with serving of communion during worship service of your choice. Training provided.
  • Lay Reader: Read scripture passages to congregation during worship service of your choice.
  • Usher: Duties include handing out bulletin, seating guests, collecting the offering, directing communion, straightening the sanctuary between services. Asked to serve one Sunday a month. You would report to the usher coordinator for worship service you would like to serve during. Training is provided
Opportunities in Connections Ministry
  • Connection Point Greeter: If you are comfortable with multi-tasking within a dynamic environment and have effective communications skills and willingness to go the extra mile, consider joining the Sunday desk team. You will be asked to serve one Sunday a month prior and after the service of your choice. Training is provided along with a Notebook with weekly and monthly information on happenings at Floris.
  • Event Planner: You would partner with the core ministry (worship, grow, serve) that is providing the event content to support/ensure excellence in hosopitaly, fellowship and community outreach opportunities. If you work well on team efforts, have a servant heart and enjoy fun fellowship while planning and executing church-wide events, big and small consider being a part of this team.
  • Greeter: If you have a hospitable nature, ability to initiate conversation and love to smile and shake hands we have a place for you. Other duties include passing the pew pads for guest registration. Asked to serve one Sunday a month. Report to greeter coordinator for service you choose to serve.
  • Parking Lot Ministry: Be the first welcoming face to our Sunday morning guests! A guest's first impression of Floris is formed in the first seven minutes. For many of our guests, all seven minutes will be spent before they sit in a pew. Be a part of the team that makes people happy and help them find a parking place. Rain gear provided in rainy/snowly weather. On the job training from an experienced Traffic Team commando.
  • Parking Shuttle Ministry: Drive the Floris bus. Requirements are licensed, insured driver. Qualifications: cautious driver, friendly and helpful and a servant heart. Training will be provided by church staff.
