Pam White is the Preschool Director at Floris United Methodist Church. Pam is from the Boston area and is living in Virginia because of her husband’s job. She has a BS in Human Resource Management from Northeastern University and a M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. Pam has two college-age girls, likes to quilt and be with family.

Pam began working as a teacher at Floris UMC in 1998 and took on the role of Preschool Director in 2003. Her primary role is to keep the preschool running smoothly with 24 staff members and 165 children. Pam’s role as Director also has her interacting with teachers, children, parents, and church staff.

• Favorite Bible verse: John 3:16 – the first verse she ever memorized when she got her Bible.
• First job: Pam’s first job was as a camp counselor and swim teacher – she even knew back then she wanted to work with children.
• Pam’s idea of a perfect day: Pam’s idea of a perfect day is a sunny day, a good book and plenty of iced tea.

Laura Kiel is the Assistant to the Director at Floris United Methodist Preschool. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, and traveled all over the world with her family, finally graduating from Seoul American High School, Seoul, Korea, then settling in Northern Virginia. She has a BS in Psychology and a minor in Office Administration from James Madison University, and a Bookkeeping Certification from Northern Virginia Community College. Laura is married to Bob, and has a son and a daughter. She loves reading, stitching and photography.

Laura began working at Floris UMC as a substitute teacher from 1996 through 1998 and took on the role of Assistant to the Director in September, 2012. Her primary responsibilities include assisting the Preschool Director, and maintaining the student records and tuition payments.

*First job: She began babysitting at the age of 12 and began as an office assistant through the Army Summer Hire Program at the age of 17.
*Laura’s idea of a perfect day: A quiet retreat in the mountains with a good book or one of her many stitching projects, and her camera at my side.
