A place for every child!
We celebrate and welcome individuals of all abilities, and strive to be a place where all can worship and grow in their faith. We offer ministry support that extends the love and message of Jesus Christ to children with disabilities and helps to incorporate them fully into the life of the church.
Sunday Morning Buddy Ministry
For 3 year olds through 5th grade we have programs at both the 9:15 AM and 11 AM services. Children with disabilities are invited and encouraged to participate fully in the array of Children's Ministry activities offered. Some children with disabilities benefit from individualized support. Through this program, children and buddy volunteers are matched to assure appropriate supports and assistance are available each week so they can participate fully and successfully in classes with their same-aged peers. Buddy support may also be requested for Children's Ministry events during the registration process. To learn more about requesting buddy support for a child in preschool through 5th grade, please fill out the information below and you will be contacted. If you are interested in volunteering with the Buddy Ministry or need additional information, please contact Karen Berlin at email@example.com.
The Respite Ministry is for families within the Floris congregation who are raising children with disabilities. Floris respite volunteers provide once a month in-home childcare to children with disabilities and their siblings so that parents/caregivers can enjoy a few hours to themselves for such things as a night out, running errands, attending meetings or church functions, etc. If you are interested in learning more about the respite program for your family, or if you would like to volunteer to serve as a respite volunteer, please contact Allison Goodeman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
