Started in 2011, this program was developed in response to concerns relating to gaps in enrichment and nutrition for students during the summer months.
Students are selected by Hutchison Elementary staff based on recommendations from teachers. Teachers consider which students might benefit most from summer learning and enrichment. Hutchison staff works with families to ensure all registration documentation is completed.
Camp Hutchison is a camp collaboration between Hutchison Elementary School and Floris UMC. Volunteers in 2017 will serve as classroom assistants alongside Hutchison teachers to provide fun and engaging learning opportunities for students this summer.
